Erdemir Steel Service Centre (Ersem) was established on 2 October 2001 by Ereğli Demir Çelik Fabrikaları T.A.Ş. (Erdemir), Turkiye's only integrated flat steel producer. Ersem, which is wholly owned by Erdemir, started its commercial activities in the Gebze Organised Industrial Zone on 1 January 2002.
